>Grant Opportunity – RBDB Program

>

The Capital District Library Council is inviting applications for grants to be funded by the Regional Bibliographic Databases Program (RBDB). Funding this year will be awarded in the following categories:
  • Retrospective conversion projects for records already in MARC format.
  • Special cataloging conversion projects of any type (such as maps, manuscripts, or other special collections).
  • Metadata – projects that enhance existing data (ie table of contents, book reviews); projects that describe textual or non-textual objects (ie electronic documants or archival materials) that could be used in future digitization projects.

All materials cataloged for the grant must be completed in MARC format or follow other acceptable regional/national standards. The data must also be included in a catalog connected to CaDiLaC Online or be included in CDLC’s partial Union Catalog. Libraries can apply for grants at a maximum of $2500 per category. All MVLS member libraries are eligible to apply – contact Lois Gordon at MVLS for an application form. Projects are for calendar year 2007, and the application deadline is December 10, 2006. Please contact Sue Rahn at CDLC (438-2500 or srahn@cdlc.org) if you have any questions about the application process.
