>The MVLS Board of Trustees Awards Committee is seeking nominations for two annual awards.
Each year, the MVLS Board of Trustees honors an individual with the Trustees Award for efforts fostering library services in our region. Established in 1975, this award recognizes those in the MVLS library community who have worked to promote library service in Fulton, Montgomery, Schenectady and Schoharie Counties. The Trustees Award includes a frames certificate and citation, and $200 presented to the recipient’s affiliated library or system, to be used for the purchase of library materials. Nominations for the Trustees Award are accepted from trustees, system or library staff.
Nominations are also being accepted for the 2007 Library Recognition Award, which honors an MVLS library for “Outstanding Achievement and Excellence”. The award recognizes an MVLS member library for one or more of the the following: A new or exiting library program or service demonstrating excellence in service; sustained outreach and/or programming efforts to reach and underserved and/or new customer population; innovative services, methods or approaches to improve library services in their community. The award includes a framed certificate and citation, and $200 to be used for library materials, programmin, or to seed new services or programs. Nominations for the Library Award are accepted from trustees, system or library staff, and members of Friends of the Library.
