The New York State Library/Division of Library Development, in conjunction with the Mohawk Valley Library System and Four County Library System, respectively, is sponsoring two workshops devoted to the Public Library Construction Grant Program. The workshops will focus on the application process as well as the legal and regulatory framework of the program in general. Applications for both the $14 million and $800,000 construction programs for 2007-08 will be available online on the New York State Library website in mid-May. Announcements will be made of their availability at the time of posting. The deadline for submission of applications to the State Library will be September 14, 2007. Any public library or public library system interested in submitting an application for a construction grant award in 2007-08 is encouraged to send at least one individual to one of the workshops. There is limited seating at both locations so early reservations are encouraged. The workshops will be held in June at the following locations:
