Congratulations to Emily Henry and the Sharon Springs Free Library, winners of the 2007 MVLS awards. Awards were presented at the MVLS annual dinner on May 23.
Emily Henry, Board President of the Schoharie Free Library, received the 2007 MVLS Trustee Award. Emily was honored as ‘the library’s best advocate and ambassador’ for her years of service as Board President, Trustee, and Director of the library. Her tireless dedication in fundraising, hands-on work and leadership to make the library a vital and growing institution in Schoharie were applauded.
Mary Ellen Wolfe, Director of the Sharon Springs Free Library, accepted the 2007 Library Recognition Award for the ‘Teens Making a Change – TMAC’ program that developed a teen advisory board and been the impetus for teen programming and involvement in the programs of the library. T-MAC benefited the Sharon Springs community by offering safe and fun activities and the opportunity to become directly involved in decision making for their library. It has brought teens from both the Sharon Springs and Cherry Valley communities together, forging new friendships and more opportunities for educational and social experiences in this rural area.
Also honored at the annual dinner was Terri Flower for her 20 years of service at MVLS.
