>Date: Thursday, December 4, 2008
Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Place: Canajoharie Library and Arkell Museum
Presenter: Susan D’Entremont, Regional Archivist, CDLC

Join us as Susan D’Entremont, Regional Archivist for the Capital District Library Council, takes us through the basics of the digitization process and the first year of their pilot digitization project, CDLC Digital Collections.

The project’s web site has recently been made available to the public at contentdm.cdlc.org and is also included in a brand new site, New York Heritage, at www.nyheritage.org, which includes materials from many other regions of New York State.

In addition to highlights of the these two sites, Susan will cover the basic process involved in digitizing materials, some policies to begin this process, copyright basics, and the difference between digitization and preservation.

Susan has been CDLC’s Documentary Heritage Program Regional Archivist since 2000. Some of her previous positions include Collection Development Archivist at the Wisconsin Historical Society in Madison, Wisconsin and Archivist at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston. She received her Masters in Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1998.
