Wiiiiiiii! It’s time for Year 2! Year 2 gives MVLS a $14,730 grant from the Federal Library Services and Technology Act funds, awarded to the New York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
The Johnstown Public Library; Northville Public Library; Mt. Pleasant Branch, SCPL; Middleburgh Library; Schoharie Free Library; and Sharon Springs Free Library will be presenting and promoting Wii fun programs for adults aged 55 and older throughout their communities.

The Year 2 introductory grant workshop will be held at the Northville Public Library on Thursday June 11, 2009 from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM, and any interested parties are welcome to join us. Consultant Trevor Oakley will lead us through set up, playing, troubleshooting and take-down. To RSVP please call or email Sue, 355-2010, ext. 226.

The LSTA grant will support the programming costs for older adults (those 55 years of age and older) by enabling the purchase of Wii consoles, games and digital cameras to photograph all the fun.

The Wii Fun Program, sponsored by the Mohawk Valley Library System and participating libaries, is made possible, in part, with Federal Library Services and Technology Act funds awarded to the New York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
