Presenter: Libby Post, Communication Services
You may consider that everyone in your community knows about how essential a service your library is; but does everyone know? What about those non-traditional library users, the ones who use your resouces from their home computers but rarely physically enter your library? How do you communicate with them to gain their support?
Libby Post, President of Communication Services will present :”Going Viral – Communicating with Non-Traditional Library Users”, which will enable participants to embrace social networking and other new strategies to communicate with your technologically savvy younger adult patrons. The January 6 workshop will include introduction to the topic with follow up implementation activities for a year two workshop to be held in January 2012.
This LSTA grant will pay $25 to each MVLS library that attends and returns follow up evaluations for workshops for this grant project. Please register using this online form by Tuesday, January 4, 2011.
This workshop is supported by Federal Library Services and Technology Act funds, awarded to The New York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
