The Mohawk Valley Library System Board of Trustees is currently accepting nominations for the 2012 Wusterbarth Award and the 2012 Library Recognition Award. Both are presented at the MVLS annual dinner in May and include a cash award.
The Harold & Junice Wusterbarth Volunteer Service Award (formerly the Trustees Award) honors an individual, organization, or business for contributions of time and effort promoting libraries or furthering the work of a member library or the system. Eligible nominees are trustees of member libraries or the system or other volunteers who have given outstanding services in developing library services in the region. Paid staff is not eligible. Nominations for the Award are accepted from trustees, system or library staff, or Friends of the library groups. The Award includes a framed certificate and $200 presented to the recipient’s affiliated library or system to be used for the purchase of library materials, each to contain a bookplate recognizing the award winner and the Wusterbarth Award.
The Library Recognition Award honors a member library for an outstanding activity, program, or service. The goal of the award is to honor the efforts of a library to improve, expand, or enhance services to its community and the region. Nominations may be made by trustees, library or system staff, or Friends of the Library members. The Award includes a framed certificate and $500 for the library.
