Cost: $215 for NYLA members, $255 for non-NYLA members (registration cost includes lunch each day)
This certificate, non-credit program is sponsored by NYLA in cooperation with public library systems around the state. It is open to individuals already working or newly hired in libraries, or people interested in working in libraries. To receive a certificate, the individual must complete the entire 18 hour program. Courses in the program include an introductory overview of libraries in general and courses on public/circulation services, technical services, and reference. ***A reminder that for 2013, MVLS offers continuing education mini-grants of $150 per library. If your library has not used the mini-grant for 2013, and you wish to apply those funds towards this course, you must register, pay for the course, AND submit the request for reimbursement to MVLS by December 15.
