Flat Iron Building, Canajoharie, NY

Flat Iron Bldg

Although businesses have been located at this corner since the early 1800s, this particular building was built after a fire in 1884. That fire destroyed all of the buildings on that block. Replacing an earlier mill, the building was used as several different stores, a meat market, and the local electric company offices. Its "flatiron" shape has made the building a Canajoharie landmark.
