Beech-Nut Packing (Plant #1), Canajoharie, NY

Beech-Nut Packing

The Beech-Nut plant was established on this site in 1891, using a local house as its first headquarters. As the business grew, a larger factory was built. The building seen here was constructed in 1905, after a fire destroyed some of the plant late in 1903. The company made ham, bacon, sliced beef, gum, candy, baby food, and dozens of other products in this factory. Now only baby food is made at this plant.
