German Lutheran Church (Bassett Health Center), Canajoharie, NY

Built in 1872, this building replaced a smaller German Lutheran Church built at the same location. The church merged with the town's English Lutheran Church in the early 20th Century. Businessman Henry Kaiser was baptized and attended services here as a child. Kaiser's father, a shoemaker born in Germany, never spoke English well and chose to travel several miles from his home in Sprout Brook to attend church here.
