Union Seminary of Warnerville, Rt. 7, Warnerville, NY

Union Seminary of Warnerville

The Warnerville Seminary opened in the fall of 1853 for the education of both boys and girls. It was a boarding school with courses in all subjects. Over 250 students entered the Seminary, and came from New York and other states as well. The school was not successful partly because of its low rates, and it closed in 1861. In 1925 it became the dance hall "Floral Park" and in 1939 it re-opened, refurbished and remodeled, as a roller rink. It now remains empty.
