What other types of mills were there in Schoharie County?

One product that came from all the limestone soil in the area was buckwheat. Electrically operated machines ground, filled, weighed and sealed cartons in mills in the late 1800's. Certainly the railroad played a role in the transportation from the mills, located near the rails, to far-away markets. There was also a vinegar factory in Cobleskill, and a number of garment and textile industries as well.
