Jelles Fonda House, Fonda/Fultonville, NY

Jelles Fonda House

The Jelles Fonda House was built in 1790. He never lived there. He died in 1790 and they had his funeral there. The porch was added during the Greek Revival period (1820-1850's). Washington Frothingham lived here. He was a journalist and historian. He contributed important matter to our Mohawk Valley records. Washington Frothingham died in 1918 at the age of 94.
