Fritcher Opera House, Fort Plain, NY

Fritcher Opera House

The Fritcher Opera House was built in 1878. Moving pictures were shown there and basketball games were played upstairs. The Union Hotel was next door. That was where Mark Twain stayed when he gave a series of lectures in Fort Plain. Both buildings burned in 1911.
