The United Congregational Church, Gloversville, NY

United Congregational Church

The first Congregational Church of Gloversville was originally formed in 1852 with 75 members. Between 1852 and 1853 the church erected its first building on its present site on East Fulton Street. Over the years other buildings were added.

The first organ was built in 1860 and rebuilt for the new church in 1894. Hiram Darling added the bells for the tower in 1923 in honor of his new wife. The present name for the church is the United Congregational Church and it still stands on East Fulton Street.
