Jenkin's Octagon House, Delanson, NY

Wilbur's Octagon House

The Jenkins Octagon was built in the 1850's by Boss Jones, a carpenter, for the Jenkins family. It is one of two eight-sided homes in the Town of Duanesburg. There were several other owners until it was purchased by the Breckenridges, the current owner's grandparents. They owned it from 1920 until 1960 where they operated the land as a farm. It was sold to the Holtbys who lived there from 1960-1977. Charles Wilber, grandson on the Breckenridges, purchased it from them in 1977 and restored the home that he had known as a boy, having spent time there when his grandparents owned it.
