Throop's Drug Store (Schoharie Pharmacy),
Main St., Schoharie, NY

Throop's Drug Store

Throop's Drug Store was established in 1800 by Jabez W. Throop, making it the oldest store in Schoharie County. The business descended through his sons Washington and Origin, and survived the fire of 1868. After many years as the Elm Store, it again became a pharmacy in 1991 when it was purchased by Dave and Sarah Goodrich. Its most popular feature, besides Sarah's cooking, is the soda fountain!
