Colonel Peter Vrooman House, Rt. 443 & 30A, Schoharie, NY

Colonel Peter Vrooman House

Colonel Peter Vrooman began his military career as a British officer, but when the Revolutionary War started, he chose to become a Patriot and commanded the Colonial Militia forces in the Schoharie Valley. His house was burned during the Raid of 1870 and this house was built in 1785 on the former Eckerson Mill property along Fox's Creek. The current owner, Mildred Vrooman, owns and operates the Easter Egg Exhibit on the grounds.
