DAR - Lasell Hall, Schoharie, NY
Audio Excerpt | Current Photo

Interview with: Anne Hendrix, Town of Schoharie Historian
Interviewed by: Catherine Caiazzo. Director, Schoharie Free Library

Transcript:

"The LaSalle family is the one that put the additions on the house, the wings…one of them is very useful; it has an outhouse…an indoor outhouse."

"They were just thrown up to house students. The Schoharie Academy was a boarding school (they were popular). They had students from all over and we've been told that a woman from South America boarded there."

"I learned a while ago it was not on the historic register, so I'm doing that, which is kind of fun. It was accepted to the State register and now it's going on to the Federal [National Register of Historic Places]."
