Sharon Springs Central School, Sharon Springs, NY

This sketch, drawn by H. E. Mitchell, is part of the Mitchell collection of historic ephemera on display at the school. It shows the new school superimposed on Solomon Shaules' marshy barnyard. Building the school on this swampy property caused a great deal of controversy at the time the school was built.
