Chestnut Street School, Sharon Springs, NY

Chestnut Street School

The Chestnut Street School was built before 1864. Its original location was on Scopoletti Road, off Chestnut Street, about three miles west of Sharon Springs. This one-room school was used until 1931, when the district joined into the Sharon Springs Central School district. In September 1989, the school was moved to its present location at the Sharon Historical Museum Complex in Sharon Springs. It is open to the public as a historic display during the summer.
