St. John's Reformed Church, West Main Street, St. Johnsville, NY

St. John's Reformed Church

Montgomery County Archivist, Edward J. Sheehan wrote in 1934, "A tradition exists that George Klock built the first church edifice of this congregation in 1756". At that time, the original church was located east of the Village of St. Johnsville. In 1804, a frame church was built in the Village. Eventually, it was demolished and in its place the present day brick structure was erected in 1882. The church still has an active congregation and weekly services are held year round.
