MD. Vellum. Iron and polished glass. Circa 1900. In the late 19th century, few females were educated as doctors in this Country. Only a few schools, including the University of Michigan, where Dr. Garlock studied, even allowed woman to attend. One of the first female graduates to attend the school, she graduated with honors and then established a long and successful career locally. |
