| Flood
of 1956, newspaper clipping In October of 1956, the Schoharie Creek flooded its banks and did severe damage, in particular to the towns of Middleburgh and Schoharie. In the Town Historian's Notebook for that year are pages and pages of clippings from local newspapers, narrating the rising of the creek, the subsequent flooding, dramatic rescue missions and clean-up. Natives still discuss this flood as the "flood of all floods" in the Valley. |
