Memorabia from Starin Place, Fultonville, New York 1880's to early 1900's
LH. Office G1 Memorabia from Starin Place, Fultonville, New York 1880's to early 1900's.

This is a sampling of stationary, invitation and calling cards of the prominent and influential businessman John Henry Starin (b. August 27, 1825). Starin Place is a six hundred-acre estate which featured in its prime, a stately mansion, a racetrack, a zoo, hot houses, nurseries, a trout pond, carriage houses, barns, a gazebo and other buildings. Located high on a hill on the south side of the Mohawk River the estate offers a magnificent view of the valley.

The benevolent Mr. Starin laid mains from the springs in his hills to the village of Fultonville, providing a free fresh water supply. He also allowed the public access to his estate's walks and roads. He was known for his hospitality thus there are many pieces of memorabia from this time.

The restored estate is open by appointment.
