Joh Johnstown High School Students. JHS Historical
House Vertical File. This vertical file is a collection of historical studies done over an 8-10 year span by high school students in American History classes. Included in the file are 131 home histories and 11 public building studies. The project was developed and administered by Mr. Ronald Beck, Social studies teacher at the high school. Students in Mr. Beck’s class were required to do research on a home in Johnstown that was minimally 100 years old. The reports include architectural information, photographs, deed information, and limited histories of the homes' past owners. The studies are unique since students were required to do research at several community agencies and were encouraged to interview past and present owners. |
