Shown here are some items found in the vertical files on the well-known Knox family. Included in the photo are newspaper clippings announcing the shutdown of the business in May, 1975. Also shown is a recipe book offering uses for the Knox gelatin product. Mrs. Knox created this.

This internally maintained file was developed over thirty years ago as a means of documenting local history. Newspaper clippings are the main source of information on local organizations and businesses. Almost 700 files contain primarily Johnstown history, but also include surrounding town entries as well. New entries are included regularly.
