East
Room #1. Assorted Personal Items.
This delightful montage of Victoriana features a
charming pair of embroidered cotton ladies stockings. Stitched with a
colorful floral motif, the name Martha Saltsman is handwritten on the
top band of one stocking.
To the right, is a pair of size 7 ½ ladies leather gloves. In wonderful
condition, the gloves have distinctive wide flared cuffs.
In the rear, is a set of linen cuffs in their original box. The cuffs
were made by the Reversible Collar Company of Boston.
Lastly, the two autograph books belonged to Hezekiah Baker. Baker,
a resident of St. Johnsville, served in the New York State Assembly. The
books include signatures of St. Johnsville acquaintances as well as fellow
Assembly members. |
