MEM 1 Tabriz Palace Carpet (detail).
This small
section of the stunning Tabriz Palace Carpet that graces the library's
Memorial Room depicts the major design elements found in it. Measuring
a magnificent 11 x 5.3 meters the carpet features a midnight
blue field with an allover pattern of interlaced bands, flowering plants,
flower filled vases, perched birds and cloud bands, within a conforming
floral border and guards. Its tremendous size combined with
its breathtaking beauty truly makes this a "magic" carpet! |
