New York State Governor William C. Bouck is featured with a description of his term of office.  He was often described as New York’s first farmer-governor.  He was born, educated and married in Schoharie County.  He gained considerable recognition for his service as a Commissioner during the Construction of the Erie Canal.  In the New York State History section at the library are volumes on the Lives of the Governors of New York State from 1743 to 1849, also Sir William Johnson’s Papers and fifteen volumes relating to the Colonial History of the State of New York.
