This book contains 32 photographs of nineteenth century Schenectady, mostly by William F. Dawson. The one shown here depicts the erecting floor of ALCO, the American Locomotive Co. Originating as the Schenectady Locomotive Works in 1848, it manufactured autos and trucks in the early 1900s and was busy in World War II building both locomotives and tanks.
