This photo collection from the GE Hall of History (now part of the Schenectady Museum and Planetarium) details the beginnings of GE from the time Thomas Edison moved his machine works here from New York City, through the era of Charles Steinmetz, the "Wizard of Schenectady," to the diversification of GE into other industries. The library's collection includes many books and newspaper clippings about GE, as well as local company publications and biographies of Steinmetz and other important figures.
