Schoharie Free Library

This is our mystery man, Henry. The original donor is deceased and the organization which she represented is no longer in existence, so no one is quite sure of the link between Henry and the Schoharie Free Library.

On the back is painted "Henry Beers Taken May 1831 by T H Cauldwell."

The wallpaper border, which shows at the top of this photograph, is seventeen inches wide and was hung in 1908 by Allen Cooper of Schoharie. It encircles not only this room, but a smaller adjoining room as well.
