The title of this book refers to Four Wars - can you guess which ones? Probably not the ones that spring to your mind first. They are: The War of the Revolution, The War of 1812, The War with Mexico, and the War of the Rebellion (Civil War).

The premier collection on local history, both primary and secondary sources, is owned by the Schoharie County Historical Society/Old Stone Fort Museum Complex Library. The Schoharie Free Library, with a much smaller number of volumes, has non-fiction history volumes as well as many works of historical fiction relevant to the area.
