Section A prevailing interest on the part of individuals and families to identify their heritage and ancestry led the Town Historian Armandine Handy to begin systematically gathering genealogical materials and information in 1980. After much tedious and time-consuming research, Mrs. Handy transferred an impressive body of written family histories to the Library, where it is available to anyone interested in conducting genealogical studies. A considerable number of families have generously donated copies of their family trees and other materials to this collection of information. |
