Telling Your Library Story: Marketing Library Services
Thursday, May 3, 2007
Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Place: Johnstown Public Library
Presenter: Libby Post, Communication Services

The Telling Your Library Story: Marketing Library Services workshop is the opening program for this year’s LSTA grant. The workshop will focus on developing, learning how to craft, and then presenting your own library message to promote your library’s value to your local community. We’ll also learn the basics of talking to your local press/media! Workshop participants will work together to begin the process of determining local campaign and local marketing projects.

What comes next for the Telling Your Library Grant? You’ll return to your library and finish your message for your own campaign! Then, Libby will work with us to fine tune your message. We’ll decide on a printed format that fits your campaign, which Communication Services will print and you’ll distribute to your community. Along the way we’ll have some pre and post surveys for you to use in your community that will indicate how they were touched by your campaign.

All libraries need to send at least one participant to this workshop as required by the Telling Your Library Story grant!
