>Tech for Youth: Connecting to Children and Teens through Technology
Date: Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Place: MidHudson Library System, Poughkeepsie
Presenter: Linda Braun
Cost: $25 for non-MHLS libraries before Aug. 1 / $30 after Aug. 1

In order for libraries to be attractive and relevant to young people and provide quality service to them, library staff must be familiar with the latest technology and how it can be put to use in libraries. In many cases, the new technologies will make the job of serving local youth easier and more efficient. In this workshop you’ll find out how others are connecting with youth via technology and how you can do it, too.
This workshop will cover:
  • Social networking (including microblogging and social sites like MySpace), wikis, blogs, and podcasts
  • Programs and services that use these technologies
  • How to market what you are doing using current and emerging technology

Register online through the MHLS web calendar.
