>Grant Opportunity – NY Council for the Humanities

>

The NY Council for the Humanities awards Major Grants (up to $20,000) and Mini Grants (up to $2,500). Council grants are meant to provide financial support for public programs presented by not-for-profit organizations across New York State that bring humanities scholars and scholarship to a general public audience. Special consideration is given to projects that reach underserved populations; to projects that, without our funding, might not happen; and to organizations that need financial seed money so that they may secure long-term support from other sources.

The next Major Grant application deadlines, for up to $20,000, are September 15, 2008 and March 15, 2009 ; applications for Mini Grants, for up to $2,500, are accepted on an ongoing basis throughout the year. To learn more about both grants programs, review eligibility, and see past awarded grants please visit nyhumanities.org/grants. For other inquiries, Council program officers are available for consultation via email or by phone at 212.233.1131.
