NYLA urges library advocates to ask their local state legislators to oppose any further cuts in Library Aid. The Governor imposed a 2% cut in library funding in the recently adopted 2008-09 State Budget and now wants the Legislature to approve a further 6% reduction. Libraries have already done their part and now its time for others to bear the burden. Use the “Become a Library Advocate” button on the MVLS web site to send a message to your legislators asking them to oppose any further cuts in Library Aid.
