Grant/Programming Opportunity – Reading & Discussion Programs for Adults

The NY Council for the Humanities offers grants to facilitate book discussion programs for adults. In each of the Council’s reading and discussion programs, participants read a series of thematically linked texts over the course of four, five, or six sessions. At each session, they come together with others in their community to discuss a text in conversation facilitated by a trained local scholar. The program can be hosted by any tax-exempt organization in New York State. Apply by Friday, December 13, 2013 for programs to be held between February and June, 2014. Organizations are able to host a discussion program more than once. Informational webinars explaining the program are scheduled for Monday, November 18 from noon – 1:00 PM and Tuesday, December 3, from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
