Workshop – Making a Difference in a Life : Customer Service for Teens & Tweens

Date: Thursday, April 24, 2014
Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM (doors open at 9:00 AM)
Place: Schenectady County Public Library, Central Library
Presenter: Terrie Gifford
Cost: $10 per person (fee for MVLS libraries waived through New York State Library’s Family Literacy Library Services grant program)

They may be Crocs, Uggs, or even Chuck Taylors  – but we’re going to walk in the virtual moccasins of a teen and tween to better understand what they need from us.  Through improvisation exercises and examples from real life, you will  come away with a better understanding of:

  • Tween and teen development
  • Developing your library’s teen/tween service message and attitude
  • Welcoming and supporting diversity

The workshop will be followed by a networking opportunity. Bring your own lunch, we’ll provide dessert and drinks. Use the opportunity to discuss whatever you like concerning service strategies for teens & tweens.

Please register for this workshop by Monday, April 24 at

This workshop is supported in part by funds from the New York State Library’s Family Literacy Library Services grant program.
