The Upper Hudson Library System (UHLS) is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team. We are a cooperative public library system based in Albany, NY, primarily funded by New York State with a total staff of 10 FTE. UHLS provides services to strengthen and connect the 29 independent public libraries in New York’s Albany and Rensselaer Counties.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director and is primarily responsible for the operational administration of the System’s activities in the areas of finance, human resources/employee benefits, facilities management, and government reporting. The Manager, Administration and Finance supervises the UHLS Finance Specialist; works closely with all UHLS staff and assists member libraries; serves as primary contact with our building tenants; and is a member of the UHLS Management Team.
The successful candidate will:
- hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a closely related field; AND have two (2) or more years of related employment experience in a similar work environment;
- demonstrate the ability to handle tasks independently and manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and reporting cycles;
- demonstrate excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing;
- demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service in all interactions with staff, member libraries, vendors, etc. and;
- project an optimistic, positive, and professional attitude.
Experience working in a non-profit organization or government agency is a preferred quality.
This is a full-time position with a competitive benefits package, including participation in the NYS Retirement System. The starting salary for this position will be $55,000.
