A solid partnership between the library board and the library director is critical to a strong and vibrant public library. This session will explore common communication breakdowns between trustees and directors, and outline the role of the library director in cultivating the traits that trustees need to succeed.
Speaker:
Cassie Guthrie is the Director of the Greece Public Library, a suburban Rochester library serving the 96,000 residents of the Town of Greece. Prior to joining the team in Greece, she was Executive Director of the Pioneer Library System (Canandaigua) and Community Relations Librarian at the White Plains Public Library. She currently serves as NYLA’s Treasurer and on the Steering Committee of the New Yorkers for Better Libraries Political Action Committee.
