Whatever your role at the library, you make a difference in the experience families with young children have there. Family engagement is now recognized as a key factor in how successfully a child learns – so we want all families with young children to feel welcome at our library. How you carry out your daily work matters in making that happen!
Come learn:
– How libraries support family engagement and why that’s important
– What’s going on in that little head: fascinating brain research
– How to build a brain (with hands-on experience!)
– Effective ways to work with families having a difficult day in the library
– Opportunities for all library staff to promote early literacy and encourage family engagement
Training is aimed for ALL library staff. Circulation staff, reference folks, custodians – all are welcome. If choices have to be made on whom to send from your library, this workshop is more for non-youth services staff than for youth services staff, but great if both (all) can come!
Please register for this workshop at https://goo.gl/3KeQj2.
