Job Posting – Assistant Library Director III, Schenectady County Public Library

Schenectady County Public Library is searching for an Assistant Library Director III. This position is almost entirely administrative and involves responsibility, under the general direction of the Library Director, for assigned phases of library administration.

Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS), Master of Science in Information Science (MSIS) or other graduate degree from a library school located within New York State which is registered by the State Education Department, or from a library school program which is accredited by the American Library Association and six (6) years of professional library experience in a library of recognized standing, three (3) years of which must have been in a public library in an administrative or supervisory capacity. A valid New York State Librarian’s Professional Certificate and a valid New York State driver’s license must be maintained throughout employment.

The salary for this position is $81,700. Schenectady County offers an excellent benefit package including New York State retirement, generous health, dental, vacation, sick and personal leave.
