Reading is Fundamental offers several matching grant programs, aimed to put books in the hands of children who need them the most.
Books for Ownership, Reading Is Fundamental’s (RIF) flagship reading program, is grounded in choice, access, and engagement, and is the best match for public libraries. It enables children to select new, age-appropriate books to take home and own and is supported by resources for educators, families, and volunteers to create a continuous focus on reading. The matching grant award provides grantees with books for them to distribute to the children they serve to take home and own, building home libraries and creating a culture of literacy.
RIF’s Book Fund provides the opportunity to purchase high-quality, affordable books for the children you serve. Schools, districts, community groups and other youth-serving entities are eligible to participate in the program.
Information on both programs can be found here, applications for the Books for Ownership grant are due by February 24, 2025.
