Job Title: Joint Automation Project Manager
Location: Saratoga Springs, New York
Employer: Southern Adirondack Library System
Hours: Full-time, 35 per week
Salary: $115,000 – $120,000 Annually

The Joint Automation Council of the Southern Adirondack Library System (SALS) and the Mohawk Valley Library System (MVLS) seeks a dynamic and strategic Manager to lead its Joint Automation (JA) Project. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape two library systems’ technological landscape and drive innovation. You will lead a dedicated team in managing technology operations, projects, and systems, ensuring our patrons and staff have access to reliable, up-to-date, and user-friendly technology.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, or a related field; AND a minimum of 5 – 7 years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science is preferred, but not required
  • Proven and progressively responsible experience leading and managing an automation, technology, and/or library operations team.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, coordinating with vendors, and leading the implementation of new technology projects.
  • Strong understanding of information technology as well as public library trends and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
